Making Your Wedding Day Memorable With Vintage Rentals

With so many wedding ideas being posted on blogs, Instagram, and Pinterest, it is no wonder that brides feel overwhelmed and unsure of which direction to go. Many brides have so many ideas of what they want, that they just can’t choose. When they finally do decide, the wedding costs may be more than expected – and décor is purchased with any money that can be scraped together . A smart bride will realize that the décor is important and not relegate it to the bottom of the budget. Even if a bride doesn’t have much money, a few carefully thought out vintage items can bring the WOW to her wedding.

Last year I attended two very different weddings. One wedding was at a pretty, upscale venue that clearly cost quite a bit of money. Everything was beautiful, but  there was nothing memorable about the wedding. The other  was a camp wedding (where the bride and groom met).  Outside the venue , a victorian couch was placed for bridal party photos. At the entrance into the ceremony a sweet vintage table greeted the guests while an antique buffet held all their gifts and another rustic table had steaming cups of apple cider. Finally, an old dark suitcase was propped open with luggage tag favors nestled in its green satin liner.I remember sitting back and realizing that the personal touches of picking out vintage pieces made the second wedding (that may have been half the cost of the first) stand out and be so much more beautiful than the first.

Don’t think that because you are in an industrial venue that vintage will not work –  vintage is timeless and can almost always work.  An antique sofa placed against a brick wall will soften the area, making it inviting and unexpected.  (If you  want to go to the other extreme, a modern piece of furniture placed in a rustic venue can work, too!). And who doesn’t love an old chippy dresser or buffet laden with desserts!
